NEW YEAR

NEW YEAR
The celebration of New Year is performed in all cities of Ecuador, mainly with the tradition of burning the old year or puppet, a fact that represents leaving behind the negative experiences of the past year and welcoming a new one, with the hope it's better than the last.
Burning the old year has ancient history and occurs in many parts of the world, and it was in the Babylonian, Greek and Roman cultures.
Ecuador is one of the few, if not the only country left in South America which burns dummies for the celebration of new year's eve. This is an example of how we do it. From Ecuador to the World.

TRADITIONS
Each new year cabals that according to the beliefs attract prosperity, love or good luck are shared; among the most popular they are:
Ø  Meeting with a suitcase just to midnight and take a walk around a block (block), which will bring travel in the coming year.
Ø  Eat a grape for each chime of the clock, in which 12 wishes (a wish for each grape) will be requested.

MUSIC

NEW YEAR IN OTHER COUNTRIES
The Germans fired the old year providing in honor of San Silvestre, and receive the New Year with firecrackers and fireworks intended ward off evil spirits. FRANCE
New Year's Eve, countless Parisian street wing out to dismiss the year. INDIA
Diwali, or the Festival of Light, indicating the start of the new year in India. It takes place between October and November and lasts five days. Although every region celebrates it in their own way, everywhere light plays an essential role: countless oil lamps decorate houses, temples and gardens, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and showing the gratitude of the people for all the good that is in their lives. Fireworks and firecrackers are also common in this celebration.
ISRAEL
 The Jewish New Year is called Rosh Hashanah. Date varies each year, but usually take place in September or October. That day is forbidden to work. Jews come to the synagogue to pray, and then return home for a special meal. It is customary to n touch the "shofar" (ram's horn) and eat apples smeared with honey to make the coming year is sweet.

The Thai New Year called Songkran and lasts three days, from 13 to 15 April. People were throwing buckets of water at each other with the desire to attract heavy rains for the coming year. It is also used to wash all statues and images of Buddha. Another custom for good luck is to release birds from their cages or fish tanks their throwing them into the river.
